Stay Motivated

I have to motivate myself to step up to the plate everyday and swing for the fences. I didn’t always feel this way. I used to wait for people to motivate me to do things. I realized that some people don’t want you to accomplish things.

So instead of encouraging you they will work on discouraging you. I also realized that the best motivation is internal motivation from within. If you are depending upon a teacher, a boss, a coach to be your motivation what if they don’t show up today?

Are you going to sit around and say well I am not doing anything today? I think not.
Stay motivated by being your own motivator.

"Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing, it's when you've had everything to do and you've done it!" --Margaret Thatcher

Learning to Be Grateful

On last Friday my mother and I went to go see my aunt Flora in the hospital. My aunt Flora has been in the hospital for over a year after having 2 strokes that left her paralyzed on her left side and caused her to have some brain damage.

I have to admit I haven’t been over to see her in quite sometime. I was amazed that she was in such high spirits. She wrote out on a pad how happy she was to see us, how much she loved us and thank God that she is alive.

I was blown away by the fact that despite her current condition she was still grateful to be alive. Aunt Flora taught me a vital lesson on how much more I have to grow.

Being grateful is part of a lifestyle. One in which we all need to live in. It seems easy to tell someone that when things are going great in your life, but what about when everything is out of whack and things are not working as you would want them to.

I thank God for keeping Aunt Flora and allowing me to step into that experience to teach me to be more grateful in life.

MORE

Happy New Year everyone! I am not a fan of resolutions as
I touched on a bit last week.

I pick a motto for the year for me to pursue. My motto
For 2006 is “MORE.” I know you are asking yourself what does he
mean his motto is “MORE”?

I will tell you exactly what “MORE” means. MORE is my action word that
dictates how I must function this year. I must write MORE, do MORE,
make MORE money, travel MORE and enjoy life MORE.

So “MORE” is not only a motto for me, it functions as a trigger word.
“MORE” motivates me to do greater things that I have ever done before.

Think of a personal motto for yourself. Then live by it for the entire year. You will
be surprised at how powerful this concept is. You will also realize
how much easier it is to live a motto than to be faithful to resolutions.

All the best this year or should I say enjoy MORE this year. You deserve it!
